Vehicles

A team of superheroes is only as effective as they are mobile, and it's hard to get around in a city like Anaheim without some serious wheels. Some of the biggest and best were translated into toy form, and information about them is below!

Migrator Playset
Migplayset.jpg (64161 bytes)

This one's also cross-listed on the Figurines page. This set consists of three figurines (Tanya, Wildwing, and Nosedive) and a miniature foldout version of the Migrator. Close it up, and it looks like the vehicle on the exterior. Fold down the flap, and it reveals the Ready Room of the Pond, complete with a defensive laser gun that plugs into the raised platform. The only playset issued by Mattel.

Duckcycle

The vehicle of choice for quick manuvers and single riders, the duckcycles are prominently featured througout the show. The toy version looks very similar to the show's cycles, complete with extending blades that emerge from the body, and a pucklauncher in the hood activated by the turning wheels. This neat little vehicle also fits most action figures, including all of series 1, 4, and 5. Make sure not to lose the two handles that attach to the sides! A special 'gold' limited edition duckcycle was also produced, for more info please refer to the Limited Edition page.

Turbowing

Known in the show as the 'Duck Stomper' and seen in the episode "The Return of Dr. Droid", this machine acts as a small version of the Aerowing, capable of hovering and some ground manuvering. The Turbowing has quite a few pieces to assemble, including stablizing wings, walking feet, flexible propulsion fans, and a spring-loaded pucklauncher activated by a button in the hood. Assembly is completed with a few stickers. Fits most action figures.

Aerowing

The largest vehicle in the team's arsenal also is their largest vehicular toy. The Aerowing measures a full 15" across the wings. The hood flexes up to reveal a cockpit that seats most series 1, 2, and 5 figures. For accessories, the Aerowing features dual front pucklaunchers, which are spring loaded and have a tendency to fall off easily. There are also two puck bombs under each wing that can be loaded and dropped manually. A large pucklauncher is located above the hood and fires with a pushbutton, and a small glider board is stored in the Aerowing's back hatch. The ship also has two levers which pull open to lock the hood closed, and a pair of webbed 'feet' for landing. This massive toy also requires sticker application to assemble.

Micro Machines

The smallest of the Duck's vehicles, this set of three Micro Machines and one launcher is a rarity amongst collectors. All three vehicles look like different versions on the theme of the Migrator, and the launcher has four speed choices.

Test Molds

Never released to the public for sale, these are known as test molds or test shots in the toy industry. Using whatever colors of plastic are on hand at the time, the molds for toys to be produced are tested, to make sure the final result is up to expectations. Pictured above are test mold pieces from the Aerowing and the Turbowing. These are true rarities, as very few are ever made, and thrown out soon afterword. They can only be found through scouring online auctions or toy collector shows.

See Limited Edition page.

Notes: The easiest of these vehicles to find nowadays are the Duckcycle and Aerowing, which can be found mint in box on online auction sites. The Turbowing and Migrator Playset can also be found this way, although they're slightly harder to find. The other toys featured on this page, the test molds in particular, should be considered rare.
