Wearables
What better way to show
your loyalty to something, than to use yourself as a human billboard for it! Each of the
items below can be used to help you advertise your fandom to the world.
Shirts
Official T-shirt
One of the few shirts offered in adult sizes,
this is the official show t-shirt sold only through the Disney Store. It features a large
logo mask diagonally across the front, with the phrase 'DUCKS ROCK' across the back
shoulder.
Alternate Official T-shirt
This rarer alternate version of the official
show t-shirt was also marketed only through the Disney store, in adult sizes. The front of
the shirt is the same as pictured above, but the back of the shirt features a different
phrase, along with the team name logo.
Wildwing MD t-shirt
This adult size t-shirt was sold only through
the two Mighty Ducks team stores located in Anaheim, CA. For this reason, it is very rare,
and one of the few instances in which Wildwing was switched with the hockey team's
official mascot, Wild Wing, in representing the team. The shirt features a picture of
Wildwing in his goalie gear, along with a spinoff of the popular Calvin Klein logo.
Preliminary
Long-Sleeved Shirt
Featuring the same art as pictured on the prelimary press kit (see Advertising
page), this long sleeved adult-sized t-shirt was likely distributed to promote the show
while it was still in its infancy. For this reason in particular, the shirt is very rare.
Duuuck! shirt
Made only in children's sizes, this t-shirt
features Wildwing firing over the head of his brother, with the word 'Duuuck!' in orange
in the background.
Grin t-shirt
This t-shirt shows Grin in his hockey gear.
Made only in children's sizes, it was likely sold through major children's clothing stores
and department stores.
Wildwing t-shirt
This t-shirt shows Wildwing jumping through a
ring of words that reads 'Wildwing, fearless leader', with a gray 'Ducks' printed in the
background. This picture came from an auction that originated in Australia, so I
would assume these shirts were available in countries other than the US.
Child's logo sweatshirt
This blue sweatshirt features the show's logo with a pair of crossed goalie sticks. Made
only in children's sizes, it is the only MD:TAS sweatshirt I know to exist.
Wildwing Logo
long-sleeve
This long-sleeved, collared shirt picture
also comes from an auction that originated in Australia. With a gray front and purple
sleeves, it shows Wildwing jumping in front of the logo mask.
Wildwing goalie
long-sleeve
Another long sleeved shirt, this one depicts Wildwing crashing through a panel of
ice, in his hockey gear. The MD:TAS logo is pictured on the bottom right corner of the
image.
Underwear
Yes, children can even express their fandom
where the sun don't shine. The underwear, located in the bottom of this picture, features
Nosedive in his hockey gear with a net pattern in the background.
Pajamas
These two designs of childrens' one-piece
pajamas were sold in major clothing stores.
Duke Face-off
sneakers
These children's sneakers featuring Duke are
the only design yet known to exist that is geared to MD:TAS. Most likely sold through
popular children's clothing outlets and major shoe stores.
Disney Store
employee button
These buttons were worn by Disney Store
employees, and were not for sale to the general public. These promotional items are in
general very rare, and these buttons are cross-listed on the Promotional page. The button
on the left was worn by store employees everywhere except in the southern California area,
where the button on the right was worn to advertise a specific TV channel on which the
show aired.
Wildwing 12 Months
of Magic pin
Marketed in Disney Stores, this is one of the
most recent pieces of MD:TAS merchandise to be made. It is most likely an instance of
Disney using Wildwing to substitute for the mascot to the hockey team. It is part of a set
called The Twelve Months of Magic.
Skateboard
Keychains
These rolling skateboard keychains were both
sold through Disney Stores. They have a textured black top, with the graphics on the
undersides. The keychain on the right should be considered to have more collectable value,
because it is one of the few instances in which Tanya appears in merchandise.
Wildwing pocket
watch
This pocket-style watch actually has a clip
to attach the watch to a bag or belt loop. A very rare item, it may have been marketed
through the Mighty Ducks team stores in Anaheim, and may be another instance of
substituting Wildwing for the team's actual mascot.
Mighty Ducks
child's sports watch
This children's sports watch has a liquid
crystal display with the team name and show logo at the top and bottom of the face. The
watch comes with a tiny light, and features to set the date, trigger an alarm, or act as a
stopwatch.
Hats
I have seen one or two designs of hats featuring Wildwing in the Mighty Ducks
team stores in Anaheim, CA. It is likely that these were not made for the show, but rather
used Wildwing instead of the team mascot in representing the hockey team.
Wildwing Halloween
costume
This children's costume was sold in major
toys stores, such as FAO Shwartz, as well as the Disney Store. Made by Disguise Inc., it
is an outfit that is made to resemble Wildwing's hockey gear. It comes complete with
lettering on the back and arms, and a plastic goalie mask.
Children's backpack
This backpack features the familiar logo and
clip art picture of the entire team on a starry background. The backpack itself is vinyl,
while the straps are made of black nylon fabric.
Notes:
Most of these items will be very difficult to come across today. They have all been
discontinued by their respective manufacturers for years. However, it is not unusual to
run across shirts, especially the ones in children's sizes, on online auction sites. They
will, 99% of the time, be in used condition. The items available through the Mighty Ducks
team stores are very rare, because they were only sold in those two stores.
